Requests to Block search results in Yahoo Search: Resource for European Residents
The Court of Justice of the European Union decided that European residents can request specific URLs be blocked where the page contains personal data that is inadequate, irrelevant or no longer relevant, or excessive in relation to the purposes for which they were collected or processed, or where compelling legitimate grounds exist for blocking a specific URL. Yahoo users who are European residents can use this form to request that a URL be blocked for a page associated with their name that satisfies these criteria.
The decision of the Court raises complex issues about the balance between an individual's right to privacy and the public's right to information. Our intake and review processes are still under development, and we are carefully reviewing the decision to assess the impact on our business and our users.
